There are two ways in the Bible church members are to support the church:
Financial Giving and Serving in a ministry.
I Corinthians 16:2 "On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collection when I come."
II Corinthians 9:7 "So let each one give as he purposes in his heart not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." Leviticus 27:30 "And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the vine, is the Lord's. It is holy unto the Lord." |
Romans 12:4-8 "For as we have many members in one body but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophesy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts in exhortation, he who gives, with liberality; he who leads with diligence; he who shows mercy with cheerfulness."
